I'm the Founder and Managing Partner of Altum Legal, where I serve as fractional general counsel for startups and venture capital funds. Fractional GC means my clients get the strategic legal partnership of an in-house general counsel without the full-time overhead — I embed with their teams, understand their businesses deeply, and handle everything from formation and fundraising to commercial contracts and M&A.

I'm also Chief Legal Officer of Real Finance, Inc., a fintech company building automated market infrastructure for private credit. Real is creating a credit-exchange and risk-transfer platform that uses AI-powered verification and blockchain-based legal frameworks to enable fractional sale of digitally native receivables — unlocking capital velocity for originators across the private credit ecosystem.

Before founding Altum, I spent seven years at Perkins Coie, one of the country's leading technology and venture capital law firms. That gave me deep expertise in startup financing, fund formation, and the legal architecture that supports innovation at scale.

I serve on corporate boards for portfolio companies and clients, bringing legal and strategic perspective to the boardroom. I'm also an active startup investor, writing checks into early-stage companies building at the frontier of technology. Investing and serving as a board member alongside my legal practice gives me a perspective that few lawyers have — I understand the founder's position because I've been on both sides of the table.

I created The Startup Law Playbook to make startup legal knowledge more accessible. Too much legal information is locked behind expensive retainers and opaque jargon. The Playbook is my contribution to leveling that playing field.

I'm a dad first. When I'm not practicing law or investing, you'll find me mountain biking, surfing, or rock climbing. I'm based in Los Angeles.
